We are pleased to have reached another small milestone, and that being, Alvin and Randy have begun grading the site where the Farm Vacation Cabin will be built. And the best part? They are working evenings doing this so that Carl and I can be somewhat involved. It was last year that Alvin graded the road to the site and we are very pleased that, nearly one year later, the road remains solid with not much erosion. Carl and I spent Thursday evening cutting and limbing trees so that the trees from the site will be used for heating our greenhouses.

![randy_grading_for_the_cabin Randy pulling trees from the cabin site. We try to remove the roots so that the trees won’t sprout and also so that the site is easily graded. Randy can pick up trees with the track hoe bucket just as if the bucket was an extension of his arm! He definitely knows how to operate the track hoe.](http://mountainharvestorganic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/randy_grading_for_the_cabin.jpg)
![no_seat_belts_for_randy The track hoe has no seat belt, and since Randy is on a steep slope, he is bracing himself with his leg against the cab frame, while operating the trak-hoe. Randy is definitely a track hoe GURU.](http://mountainharvestorganic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/no_seat_belts_for_randy-1024x768.jpg)
