Tomatoes: Prudens Purple Plant (Brandywine)

This heirloom tomato is among a favorite of tomato aficionado and are perfectly suited for sandwiches, hamburgers, salsa and pasta.  This is a type of Brandywine, with flattened and smooth fruits, except shoulder ribbing on some, and a vivid dark-pink skin with crimson flesh. The plant has  unusual potato leaf vines with a dark red, almost purple fruit and is very productive all summer long. They are juicy, so for sandwiches you may need to drain off a bit of juice after slicing, just so your sandwich doesn’t fall apart.  GREAT FLAVOR!  Classic Brandywine taste with a superb tangy flavor and creamy texture. Meaty with few seeds.
