That is how I felt after looking back over what little I’ve accomplished this past week… Carl has reason to fire me. On Thursday, all I did was assist Carl somewhat installing greenhouse end walls, tend to the little piggies and goats, clean up white pine tree branches and stack the wood. On Friday all I did was tend to chickens, goats, horses and piggies, plow our early Spring field and continued cleaning up pine branches. It is a little depressing when I think back over this past week. I need time away from the valley – perhaps a hike to the ridge – just to clear my mind.
![white_pine_branches These are the branches from 5 fairly large white pine trees. Carl and I stacked all these branches into this one pile.](http://mountainharvestorganic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/white_pine_branches.jpg)
Lee has been felling trees for us around our greenhouse allowing more light through the forest canopy so hopefully our greenhouse is more productive this year. We are thankful that he is felling these trees because he has not yet crushed the greenhouse nor the pizza oven because of his experience felling trees along a desired fell line. Carl and I probably would have crushed the greenhouse felling those trees. SO THANKS LEE!
Alvin has nearly completed the road we will use to haul out timber and it is looking good. Now the challenge is how to get those trees out of the forest with the equipment we have!
![greenhouse_still_standing Trees that have been cut allowing the sun to shine on our greenhouse! This photograph shows the greenhouse is still standing after Lee felled around 5 trees.](http://mountainharvestorganic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/greenhouse_still_standing.jpg)
![pizza_oven_still_standing Check out the rustic pizza oven that Lee didn’t crush when felling trees just because he is experienced at felling trees when choosing a felling line! We are looking forward to pizza season when the weather is warm and the atmosphere is dry.](http://mountainharvestorganic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/pizza_oven_still_standing.jpg)
![water_fall_flowing e had a bit of snow and rain last night and today so the waterfall near the ridge is BEAUTIFUL! We enjoyed a hike around the farm even though the weather is cold and wet.](http://mountainharvestorganic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/water_fall_flowing.jpg)
![me_by_the_waterfall Me standing next to the waterfall which is not normally flowing this much but we have had a 2 inches of rain the past couple days.](http://mountainharvestorganic.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/me_by_the_waterfall.jpg)
