Ham Hocks are from the pigs shins and make great additions to soups, greens, beans for added flavor and body. It is also excellent for bone broth. Since this cut generally contains skin, tendons and ligaments, it requires long cooking through braising and stewing. We love ham hocks in a vegetable roast or stew because of their rich flavor. We love black eyed peas and hocks that not only do we enjoy at new years, but at almost any time of the year. This recipe is one we mostly use but we include cooked ham hocks in addition to the bacon.
This product is sold by the pound with packages averaging 1 – 1/2 pounds. The price is an approximation based on the average weight of the packages so we will adjust the cost on your order once we pull the product from inventory.
