This basil has intoxicating aromas and notes of citrus, specifically lemon and lime. Lemon basil is mild enough to flavor grilled fish or shrimp and can be substituted for basil if you are looking for a fresh twist of flavor. Finely chop and add it to salad dressings, soups, pasta with julienne vegetables and to season rice wine vinegar for cooking purposes. It is very refreshing hot or cold tea. This recipe for Lemon Basil Sorbet is fabulous in the summer, although it doesn’t call for “lemon basil”, we think lemon basil provides an in depth flavor.
